9AM – 5PM Both Days.

Do you have clients with chronic neck and upper back pain or with sciatica and chronic low back pain?  Wonder why they don’t get relief from working the areas that hurt?  This course will allow you to alleviate and sometimes eliminate these issues for your clients.

Each morning will learn ways to ask the client to actively engage muscles to improve your palpation skills and help you isolate specific muscles in each area, making your work more efficient and effective. Afternoons will include a demonstration of techniques for the hip or shoulder girdle, and then an exchange to practice and receive the work. Emphasis will be on discovering the source of the problem and treating that, rather than just addressing symptoms.

As with all my Deep Tissue courses, we will focus on techniques that help you give more pressure with less effort.

I recently took Melissa’s ‘Getting Specific- Hip and Shoulder Girdle’ course. The course was engaging, relevant, and full of great strategies I incorporated in my practice right away. Especially enjoyed learning ways to give my body a break while doing this work! I highly recommend Melissa’s courses. This will not be my last!

WHAT TO BRING:  2 set of sheets and 2 face cradle covers. Extra sheets or blankets if you get cold. Oil or lotion. We will adhere to State Massage Board and CDC mask mandates in place as of class dates. Bring at least one mask with you. (If we wear masks and you want to use a pillowcase under the cradle when face down, also bring 2 pillowcases).

REVIEW THE ATTACHED FILES BEFORE CLASS: There are two documents attached to your confirmation email. Please read both and review the Anatomy Review Sheet prior to class.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Refund (less $50 processing fee) if cancellation received at least two weeks prior to the course start date. Cancellations less than two weeks before the course will not receive a refund. Exception: Cold, Flu or Covid symptoms with a Doctor’s note.
